This course presents an overview of the origins and development of security; the impact of Industrial Expansion; the development and growth of private security companies; the theories of crime and security; the business of security, the government involvement; the creation of a national private guard organization; the theories, policies, and practices that differentiates proprietary security, contract security, and the public security sector; and the trend towards professionalization.
