This course deals with the study of bacteria, viruses, protozoan, fungi, and helminths, their general characteristics, pathogenicity, source, and mode of transmission. This course also covers the principles of the underlying infection, disease control, and prevention, as well as immunity. The impact of microorganisms on human health and the environment, as well as their applications in industry, are also given emphasis.
