This course will tackle the process of coordinating and controlling the activities required in the production as employed in modern manufacturing plants. It will involve the discussion of effective control in scheduling, cost, performance, quality, and waste requirements. The course will also discuss the objectives and management of manufacturing and production technologies resulting to low-cost operation, high performance, consistent product quality, high yield and productivity level, and product customization. Students will also learn how to identify, design, produce, test, and evaluate a new product. Topics include identification of market opportunities, generation of product concepts, feasibility analysis, prototyping, supplier selection, product planning and testing.
