This course will introduce the principles of immunology including the natural and acquired or induced resistance to specific disease; specific antibodies against specific pathogens; antigen–antibody reactions; the major histocompatibility complex reactions and antigen presentation; T-cell activation and effector functions; immune responses to infectious organisms and tumors; autoimmune diseases; autoimmunity, allergies, and immune deficiencies.
