It will involve the discussion of effective control in scheduling, cost, performance, quality, and waste requirements. The course will also discuss the objectives and management of manufacturing and production technologies resulting to low-cost operation, high performance, consistent product quality, high yield and productivity level, and product customization. Students will also learn how to identify, design, produce, test, and evaluate a new product. Topics include identification of market opportunities, generation of product concepts, feasibility analysis, prototyping, supplier selection, product planning and testing.

This course is a study of fluids or compressed air as the transfer media. Complete hydraulic and pneumatic systems are studied including power sources, reservoirs, pumps, compressors, lines, valves and actuators. Students will learn troubleshooting strategies to identify, localize and correct malfunctions. Preventative maintenance and safety issues will also be discussed.
