This course deals with concepts, principles, theories, and techniques in the provision of basic care in terms of health promotion, disease prevention, restoration ad maintenance, and rehabilitation at the individual and family level. It includes the study of Philippine Health Care Delivery System, national health situation, and the global context of public health. The learners are expected to provide safe, appropriate, and holistic nursing care to individuals and family as clients in community settings utilizing the nursing process.

It also involves legal analyses of related jurisprudence as a means of understanding the application of the laws.

The subject focuses on criminal evidence as defined under the Rules of Court. Topics for discussion will include basic principles of evidence and its admissibility, burden of proof, quantum of evidence and presumptions, among others. For the students to have a better appreciation of what it is like to present evidence in court, cases will be studied and full discussion on the merits of the case is highly encouraged.
